At a time when most people are cuddled up in sweats, a woman in New York is making the most of her quarantine by using her Rent the Runway subscription to order herself glitzy ball gowns to wear while working from home.

Lucy Rogers, an employee at the digital marketing agency Croud, started her Say Yes To The WFH Dress Instagram account to share photos of herself sipping coffee, connecting her computer, and lounging on her couch — all while draped in designer dresses.

'I created the Instagram account to make my friends and family smile, to be honest, but it’s taken on a life of its own,' she told DailyMail.com via email. 'I’ve had so many messages from people saying they love the idea or are joining in and getting involved.'

Lucy has had a subscription with the fashion rental company for a couple of years now because it saves her from having to buy clothes to wear to the numerous work meetings she has throughout the week.

When her agency made the decision to work from home amid the coronavirus pandemic, she considered canceling her subscriptions because she no longer needed the clothes.

'Then I thought about all the dresses RTR has to offer that I’d never normally be able to wear in everyday life,' she said. 'There’s an incredible range of ball gowns and dresses that would be highly inappropriate for the office...so I decided now was the chance to try them all.'

The inaugural post on her Say Yes To The WFH Dress shows her modeling a regal purple ML Monique L'huillier gown, which normally retails for $1,000.

In the image from March 16, Lucy is sipping a cup of coffee in the low cut dress while sitting in front of two computer screens at her kitchen table.

'Day 1. Work station set up and settle in. Incredible dress... hard to do up solo so possible wardrobe malfunction for those on-camera meetings. Noted,' she captioned the snapshots.

Every work day for the past two weeks, she has shared photos of herself completing mundane tasks such as taking out the trash and organizing her works space while showing off a new dress.

'My favorite dress so far was, without a doubt, the pink Marchesa Notte Bridesmaid dress. It was like so beautiful, and I’m a sucker for tulle,' she said of the off-the-shoulder gown she wore to snack on junk food on the ninth day of her quarantine.

'Day 9. It’s important to maintain a healthy eating lifestyle, and routine, when working from home,' she jokingly wrote when she posted images of herself in the gown.

'I like to pack my lunchbox with a sandwich as if still heading off to work. Whilst you should avoid eating at your desk, if you do need a snack, this dress is ideal to help carry a few essentials from the cupboard to your workplace.'

Lucy said her second favorite look is the royal blue two-piece jumpsuit/gown by Jay Godfrey that she donned when she cleaned her bathroom on April 1.

'It’s just something I’d never be able to wear for a business meeting in everyday life, but it’s a great two for one!' she explained.

All of the 13 dresses she has worn so far have come from Rent the Runway, and she's not worried about running out of options any time soon.

'Rent The Runway has quite the selection,' she said. 'And if all else fails, I do have a good supply at home. It’s just fun to play dress up with things you’d never buy or pick.'

Lucy said she plans on keeping up with the account for the remainder of the quarantine, however long that may be.

'If it makes one person smile among all this horribleness going on right now then that makes me very happy,' she said, adding: 'Plus there are too many dresses to try!'
